Cycle Cities Announces Bilbao as 2024 Cycle Cities Symposium Host

10th Annual Bike Tour Conference to take place February 26-28, 2024

Bilbao, Spain – October 9, 2023 –  Cycle Cities has announced Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain as the host destination for their 2024 Cycle Cities Symposium, taking place February 26 – 28 at La Terminal et al, with bike tour operators throughout Europe expected to attend.  CC is the oldest symposium and networking event for bike tour operators, bike-focused hotels, cycling and travel brands, and industry professionals.  With the hospitality of Cycle Cities Member, Tourne Bilbao, attendees will get a chance to experience Bilbao’s most popular iconic spots by bike.

Designed to cultivate collaborations, cutting-edge approaches, and cross-sector training, the Cycle Cities Symposium will serve as a platform for CC to leverage the collective brain power, insights, and network of its CC active members to set the path for a more successful and enduring travel business.

“I believe that Bilbao is the perfect city to host our 10th annual event. Bilbao is seeing much interest in cycling tourism, especially with the recent Tour de France Grand Depart, which showcased the city, and its surroundings, wonderfully,” said Steve Kopandy, Founder of CycleCities.Tours. “Our partners from all over Europe are excited to Discover Bilbao for themselves.”

Highlights include a cycling discovery of Bilbao while learning to check in guests, design routes, to safe and expert guiding.   Engaging workshops will stimulate discussions on topics such as impact assessment and marketing strategies to sales objectives, financial growth, and delivering exceptional customer service, among others.  The Bilbao Convention Bureau will present an informative session on establishing fruitful partnerships between tour operators and government entities and local tourism associations. We will explore the dynamics of mutually beneficial relationships, effective approaches to engaging with local tourism associations, and the increasing appeal of cycling as a strategic tool for inbound tourism marketing.

Symposium participants can take advantage of the exciting bike tours and festivities, including the Golden Coast Bike Tour, evening meet-and-eat gatherings, and a vibrant Basque Country afterparty. Extend your stay to fully immerse yourself in Spain and the Basque region, as more opportunities await those looking to make the most of their time here.

As the proud host of this year’s Cycle Cities Symposium, we extend a warm welcome to our picturesque city,” said Aitor Guardilla, Founder of Tourne Bilbao.  “We eagerly anticipate leading the bike tour, and forging valuable business connections with each of you.”
